Search Continues for Missing Motorist in the Payette River

Horseshoe Bend -- On Sunday morning, May 7, Jerry Coburn, left his home in Kuna, Idaho and traveled north in his blue 2011 Ford F250 crew cab truck along Highway 55 headed to Horsethief Reservoir for a day of fishing. His family reported him missing that evening when he didn’t return. The family believes his truck went off the road, north of the Gardena Bridge, around 9:00 a.m. on Sunday. There were two witness accounts of a truck going off into the Payette River reported to the Boise County Sheriff’s office. The sheriff’s department conducted a search on May 7, which had to be “suspended due to the dangerous conditions of the river and the way it is running” according to Boise County Sheriff ‘s Chief Deputy Officer, Steve Dorau.
