Horseshoe Bend: For the first time in a long time, Horseshoe Bend has a mayor and FULL council. At the January 25, 2017 meeting, Mayor Pat Goff swore Acacia Fisher in for the empty council seat. She will fill the position, the same as the Mayor, until the next general election. If they decide they want to run for their current positions, they must do so on the ballot.
Council business included the public hearing on the Water/Sewer rates. An excellent, concise handout prepared by Treasurer Terri Lawson provided all the information on the water bond, which was paid off early, saving the city over $100,000 in interest.
