In Solemn Remembrance
Idaho City - A service was held in behalf of Byron C. Bidegain (aka Byran) on Friday, December 30th, 2016. The program included drawings from his daughter and adopted granddaughter. It read: “Fun and Family were important to Byran.”
Military Honors were performed for his service by the Marine Color Guard. After the American flag was ceremoniously refolded, a somber playing of a bugle rang out “Taps” in the Idaho City High School Gymnasium. The flag was then presented to Byran’s widow, Sharon, and she was thanked quietly for his service in the Armed Forces.
Pastor Mark Veristain recounted that it wasn’t until Byran enlisted in the military that he came to find out a mistake had been made. All his life he had gone by Byran, but became “Byron,” due to a typo made on ...
