U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree Comes Through Horseshoe Bend

Horseshoe Bend – Boise County residents anxiously awaited the arrival of the National Christmas tree at the Horseshoe Bend High School on Sunday, November 6th. Smokey Bear, with the U.S. Forest Service, was at the school to greet kids, hand out stickers and special Christmas ornaments to mark the occasion. However, an unfortunate accident occurred at 12:19 p.m., when a 2001 Dodge truck crossed the centerline and hit an Idaho State Trooper’s vehicle leading the caravan. The crash occurred at milepost 77, on Highway 55. This accident stalled traffic for 2 hours and delayed the celebratory arrival in Horseshoe Bend.
Idaho State Police (ISP) Trooper Brandalyn Crapo had been the lead official escort for the motorcade of the National Christmas tree from McCall to Horseshoe Bend.
